Stamp On It

Hip hip hooray, it's my day!  First of all WELCOME to my newly created blog.  Not much to look at so far but I hope to become a very active member in the blogging community!  Much thanks to Madame Samm for dreaming up these hops that I love so much.  These hops are the whole reason I finally bit the bullet and started this blog.  A HUGE thanks to Thearica for hosting this one and helping me with all my newbie blogger questions!
Now to my favorite part, my shameless quest for some quilty love....
Here is my finished stamp!  What else would it be but a robin?  First I drew out my stamp (no artist here!) so I cold decide how I wanted my birdie to look.
So, after I was done drawing upside down (pretty talented, huh?!)  I turned it the right way and traced my birdie parts (hehe, that part should be rated pg13!).
Then I went searching for the perfect background fabric.  Lo and behold I came across some of my sun dyed fabric.  It was just a practice piece of fabric and I didn't think it would ever really come in handy but WOW I love how the robin looks on it.  So I ironed on the pieces and away I went.  Oh, the three little eggs are for my three little hatchlings!
Then I just cut strips of brown scrap fabrics and sewed them down randomly.  I forgot to take a pic of this step. DUH!  The final touches were the letters USA on a background of Pennsylvania for my location and of course I put in my two cents at the bottom!!  Here is a close up.
I hope you enjoy my stamp and my new blog.  There are so many more stamps to see by my fellow bloggers today!  Give them all some quilty love!!

Pattern Testing Rocks!!

Recently, I tested a new backpack pattern for ChrisWDesigns.  It is a great pattern with lots of detailed instructions and pictures.  This backpack is the perfect size.  It is not as tall as an adult size book bag but the depth and the three boxed pockets on this outside make it able to hold much more than it seems at first glance.  If you have never tried a pattern of hers, I would highly recommend that you do.  Chris has named her new pattern the Dawn to Dusk Backpack.  Here are a few pictures of my finished bag.  Enjoy!!

Blogspot...The Final Frontier!!!

Well, for me anyway!  This is my very first post and I am beyond nervous.  I love love love reading the blogs of others but I am way out of my comfort zone writing my own.  I mostly am starting this blog so that I can continue joining in the bloghops lead by Madame Samm of Sew We Quilt.  I really enjoy being part of these hops and getting to know other bloggers.  The best part is that they hold me accountable and force me to finish a project!  I am the queen of starting project and court jester at coming up with reasons why I can't finish them!!!  So be gentle with me until I get my bearings and figure out how this blog thing works.  I hope you come to enjoy reading my posts and looking at my creations.
